Shame On Me.

February 26, 2008

Sometimes I get so worked-up, I can’t stand to blog anymore. There are just too many things to rant about, and not enough time (or patience) to sort my thoughts out and mold them into something coherent… BUT thanks to a nameless Liberal somewhere, I have returned from my hiatus to blog some more. They have inspired me to the point where I must break my silence. I went online today and saw a headline that “popped” on my MSN homepage. It said “No, the surge is not a success.” Well, needless to say my BS detector started sounding the alarm, and I had to click on the link and take a peek at the train wreck. NOW, I am not going to rip on Michael Kinsley for his views expressed in the article, that is a blog for another time. I find it rediculously obvious that this article appears the day after the Associated Press releases this: “John McCain said Monday that to win the White House he must convince a war-weary country that U.S. policy in Iraq is succeeding. If he can’t, “then I lose. I lose,” the Republican said.”  I immediately thought that the article on the surge was written as nothing more than a back-handed swipe at Mccain’s presidential bid, and I wanted the author to be called out on it! However, upon digging a little deeper I found out that he wrote the article BEFORE McCain made those comments. I do however find it curious that MSN has a link to the article on their hompage… hmmm…some nameless Liberal somewhere felt it was important I see that…

I think McCain has tons of flaws, and as I have made clear in previous posts I am not some brainwashed Republican mouthpiece, BUT the alternative (Liberalism (the new socialism)/Clinton/Obama) is absolutely frightening to me. So here I am, back to blogging if not for the sole purpose of placating my guilty conscience.  I have been sitting back and watching my country fall apart without making some attempt, however small, to do something about it. Shame on me.

Their Silence is Golden

August 13, 2007

The point of this brief update on my beef with the so-called “Campaign to Defend America” is that there is nothing to report. When I called them on August 9th  I left a message on their voicemail that was polite yet firm, stating my name, my phone number and the fact that I wanted to be removed from their phone list. I briefly explained that I was unhappy with their calls and felt it was unethical and irresponsible to continue these phone campaigns, and asked for someone to please return my call. I have yet to receive a return call, and I am not surprised. As a matter of fact I am happy they have not and most likely will not return my call, because it proves my point that they are cowards hiding behind recorded messages, and mis-interpreted statistics.

This tom-foolery is now commonplace in our society on all sides. All over the “main-stream” media you will see stories about recent polls that suggest “most Americans” want our troops out of Iraq. Well, duh! Of course we do- who in their right mind doesn’t? But just because that’s what we want does that necessarily mean it’s what we think we should do? And if so, does that mean we should actually do it? Come on, my kids and I want to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner- does that mean we should do it? Forget about the consequences and just do it because that is what we want? It’s such a plain, silly argument.

As for the numbers this group quotes, I learned from my father at a very young age that anybody can use numbers to make a strong case for anything. He taught me not to be so gullable as to trust someone is not manipulating numbers to further their cause. This goes especially for my favorite farce – when polls are taken by liberal leaning “mainstream” news organizations, who are polling people who’s opinions are formed based on the liberal leaning news that the same organizations are feeding them. It’s what I like to call a “circle of redudency”. Paying too much attention to polls is an easy trap to fall into, but I feel “most Americans” know that. The notion that what “most Americans” believe could possibly affect what I believe is laughable to me. I say this to painlessly dispell the arguments of the bogus “Campaign to Defend America”, but I’m sure someone can point out how the “Pro-War, Pro-National Security side” is guilty of the same shananigans. That’s all well and good, but noone is calling my house leaving pre-recorded “Pro-War” messages are they?

So with all my liberal bashing lately, I figured it was only fair to throw them a bone, so to my liberal friends, please enjoy this: George W. toilet paper

Differences, and the Bird Feeder Theory

July 27, 2007

Let me start off with this, being that this blog is still in the “getting to know you” stage. I am not a highly educated man. I am a high school graduate with a few college courses under my belt. I am not a political wiz, and do not live and breathe the news and the polls and the rhetoric that is spinning around us constantly. Yet I do make a deliberate attempt to remain informed, which is much more than a lot of people do these days. Ignorant, careless, uninformed people surround me at all times, and it literally makes me sick. I just can’t comprehend how people can go though their lives day in and day out without having the slightest clue about what is going on in the world around them- especially the happenings of their own country and government, especially in a time of war. Now this has nothing to do with polititcal party, although I do have a theory that the less informed a person is, the more likely they will vote for a Democrat, but that is a blog for another day.

(NOTE: Just because I despise Liberal Democrats and what they are attepting to do to our country DO NOT make the mistake of assuming I am blindly following the Republicans either- for they have plenty of bone-head ideas I despise as well. I do lean conservative on most issues, but not all. I THINK FOR MYSELF, THANK YOU!)

That being said, I was very lucky to have two wonderful parents and a strong, healthy family. I was instilled with certain faith-based morals and values as well as a very strong work ethic. I actually chose not to go to college after high school, and although I sometimes look back and wonder “what if”, I don’t regret that decision. I have been gainfully employed since I was 15 years old. I started working part-time after school and at the age of 18 went to full time. I was not skilled, yet I got a job and worked hard and learned a business and moved up and carved out a nice little place in this world for myself and my family.

So what’s my point? I’m  getting there- be patient…

I want to talk about differences, in an effort to make clearer where I stand and why, as well as to explain my contempt for the Liberals in these-here fine United States. First lets talk about the difference between Government and Charity. Government exists to govern. Charity exists to help people. How on earth did anyone ever confuse the two? And now, I keep hearing talk of this INSANE idea of “FREE” National Healthcare. Are these people out of their minds? This country is being pushed toward a socialist mentality that, if not stopped, is destined to be the ruin of our economy- not to mention diminishing our freedom and overall quality of life. This is America, and although all citizens should be encouraged to be charitable towards their fellow Americans, the government has no right to force them to. I could go on and on about this one, and someday I will, but for now let me wrap it up so I can move on- Government should not be in the business of charity. Not only the big two (Wellfare and Unemployment) but all social programs should be CUT, CUT, CUT if not elliminated entirely.  This is where the Bird Feeder Theory applies. If you put out a bird feeder, birds will show up. If you take the bird feeder away, the birds will not starve, they will make their own way. I often think that if all these bleeding heart liberals (who can’t wait to get their hands on my tax dollars to give to someone else who they’ve decided needs it more than me) were to focus their time, energy and money into a charity such as a soup kitchen or the Red Cross or the Salvation Army, the world would be a much better place. But what do I know? I’m just a dumb, hard working, insured taxpayer.

Another difference I would like to talk about is the difference between people who obey the law, and people who don’t. People who don’t obey the law are breaking the law. People who break the law are called criminals. I was always taught growing up to respect and obey the law, for it is what keeps us safe and maintains order. I also learned, if you break the law, you must suffer the consequences. This applies not only to you and me and Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, but also to all the illegal aliens that are invading our country. They came here illegally, they obtained fake documents illegally, thay are employed illegally. They are criminals. If I break the law, I must pay a fine, or go to court or go to jail, or whatever the law says I have to do depending on which law I’ve broken. Why the hell would anyone even consider giving illegal aliens (CRIMINALS) special consideration that I wouldn’t get even if I were to get caught sending a text message while driving? And why on earth should any of our(American Citizens) tax dollars be spent to help feed or clothe or educate or give medical treatment to any of these criminals? This to me is a no-brainer folks. Here again we may apply the Bird Feeder Theory. I say take the bird feeder away- fast and hard. Give them NOTHING. Make it IMPOSSIBLE for them to get a job. Give them NO INCENTIVE to come here or stay here. They are criminals. If they didn’t respect our laws to come here and drive here and work here, what the hell makes anyone think they will start respecting them anytime soon?

So there you have my rant for today. Just blowing off some steam on some “same old” issues that get my blood boiling. Feel free to comment and tell me what a monster I am or how Dick Cheney is brainwashing me or whatever.

A$$holes in Idiot’s clothing

July 19, 2007

I got a recorded phone call from the “Campaign to Defend America”.. I am tempted to transcribe the whole message, however I would hate to further their idiotic cause by possibly spreading their message to some melon-head that may be reading my blog and not have a mind of his (or her) own. The message railed against my Congressman – Scott Garrett for voting “once again to stand with Dick Cheney and President Bush and continue the Iraq war”. It went on to give all sorts of statistics about how Americans want the troops out of Iraq, and blah blah blah, then went on to give out the phone number to Scott Garrett’s office, and urged me to call him and basically tell him he sucks. Needless to say, I did not do that. As a matter of fact, I did the opposite. I called and said I was glad that Scott Garrett wasn’t a nit-wit, and that he understood what was going on in the world and didn’t want to just bury America’s head in the sand and cross our fingers that we don’t get killed by terrorists someday. OK, so I didn’t say exactly that, but you get the picture. I then decided I wanted to call the “Campaign to Defend America” and try to talk some sense into these misguided souls, and guess what I found? They called from a blocked number. So, I Googled them only to find they basically don’t exist! Well, how’s that for text-book liberal whacko behavior! So, you  invade my home, insult my intelligence by spewing your unpatriotic propaganda , and then give me no recourse to confront you? God forbid my 12 year old daughter answered the phone, ’cause then I’d REALLY be pissed. No wonder they want to cut and run in Iraq. They don’t even have the balls to support their ideas to the people they are harassing over the phone!

To be fair you may say “Uranass, your blog is anonymous, so what’s the difference?”

The difference is two-fold. First- my blog is published on a web-page and can be read or passed over as you wish. I am not calling people’s homes and leaving recorded messages on their phones for their children or anyone else to hear. And secondly, my blog allows for comments, and I welcome anyone and everyone to agree with me or tell me I suck. I am not afraid to have to defend my ideas, as a matter of fact I welcome the opportunity. Debate is healthy. Hit and run is cowardly.

Part of the reason I feel so strongly about this is that I have a son in the US NAVY, and I am DAMN proud of him. I am lucky that he is not in a hostile area right now, but if and when he has to be then I know he will be doing it of his own free-will and he’ll be serving  and protecting his country and it’s citizens. He is part of the REAL Campaign to Defend America.

Trying to stay calm and focussed here, but my blood is boiling. No one wants war. Of course Americans want us out of Iraq- myself included. BUT – not until the job is done. Not until there is enough stablilty. When will the time be right? When it is. And not a moment before.

Sorry, No funny link today. Not in the mood.

If only…

July 14, 2007

If only my job allowed me to repeatedly do unproductive, meaningless nonsense and avoid doing anything of substance that would actually be of any use to anyone. If only I could claim I was trying to do what my employers wanted me to do, but just waste time basically doing nothing at all, while at the same time creating an illusion that I was working hard, and get paid big bucks with plenty of vacation time and perks. If only I was a United States Congressman.

If only they would leave poor old Sharpe James alone in New Jersey. Everybody knew the guy was a flake, but now they wanna hold him accountable for his actions? Why, that’s plain un-American.

If only we could harness the energy-rich potential of all the HOT AIR in this country. You know, from the whackos who want George Bush impeached, from the whackos who want to protect terrorist’s rights, from the whackos who make wreckless allegations or create their own versions reality in regards to Iraq, from those who make ridiculous movies advocating “free” government run health care and then throw hissy fits on TV, and of course the whackos who claim global warming is caused by humans. I could go on, and on, and on, and on… maybe all this hot air is behind global warming.

If only someone out there would pick a fight with me, you know, to keep me focused… So much insanity to rant about- that’s why I’m so all over the place. I need to choose one thing to tear apart at a time. I’m like a kid in a candy store here- I wanna take a bite outta everything.

And for today’s random silliness I present to you: The Toilet Snorkle

Ready, Set, GO TO HELL!

July 12, 2007

Well,  lets get down to the nitty-gritty right away, shall we? I abhor modern day liberal Democrats. HOWEVER, that does not mean that I am a right-wing conservative Republican either. Both parties have some seriously cracked ways of thinking in a variety of areas.

The GOP’s greatest shortfall is it’s position on abortion. I find it pretty silly that the party that supposedly stands for more personal responsibility and freedom, and less government control of the average American’s life, stands in contradiction of themselves on this issue. What makes this way of thinking different than radical muslims that want to force the world to live by their take on how their God says the world should be? When it really comes down to it, I’m with Rudy. I think abortion sucks, and don’t advocate it at all, but I don’t believe that I have the right to force my views on the subject on anyone else. HOWEVER, there have to be lines drawn when it comes to partial-birth abortions and some of the sick, crazy sh*t that goes on out there. So here is my propsed solution:

Abortions should be legal through the first 4 months of pregnancy. After that, abortions should be legal only for liberal Democrats up until 18 years. As a matter of fact, they should be encouraged for this group. (Hey, I know it sounds cruel, but I believe it would be a rather effective way to offset the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant voters they are trying to fast-track to become liberal Democrat-voting citizens…) WARNING- be careful if you click that link- you may get dizzy from both sides spinning the fact and falsities…

OKAY, calm the hell down now- I was just kidding. That “solution” was actually inspired by an old episode of South Park… but I DO mean what I said about being with Rudy. Abortion is a horrible thing, but as long as it doesn’t involve me and my family, it’s none of my business- And if it does involve me and my family, then it’s none of yours.

That’s it for today.

If I pissed you off, get used to it if you’re gonna read my blog. If I didn’t piss you off, don’t worry, I will eventually.

Now for some nonsense I didn’t write: Elephant vasectomist and other jobs you wouldn’t want
